Oor Hom
I am regarded by others as an intelligent, well-grounded, and balanced human being. I’m a bit of a walking contradiction: a private-school and tertiary-educated engineer and business owner who grew up on a farm and in the bush – so I can hold my own in a boardroom, fix a tractor (or just about anything else) if it’s fixable.
My greatest love in life (after the future woman in my life, of course 🤭)- is the bush. I am a true child of the African soil and a bush boy at heart. I find my passion in Nature and I’m actively involved in wildlife conservation at different levels.
I am a spiritual agnostic who finds meaning in the phenomenal natural world not religious dogma. If your life is dedicated ONE God with no space for discussion or other people’s ideas, we probably won’t evolve together.
My favourite activities include; just being in the bush, birdwatching, beach walks, hiking, running, scuba diving, flying, fishing, road trips, sport and travel.
A music concert, the orchestra, opera, theatre or dancing the night away at a good party are all on my wide-scope fun radar. I’m just as happy in my bush hat trying to identify a creature, as I am in my dinner jacket and bow tie at a gala ball or making a fool of myself on the dance floor.
I enjoy entertaining and socializing as a couple, and (bonus) I’m house trained too! For me, a great dinner party involves planning and preparing together and having a good stimulating debate (as opposed to an argument) around the table with interesting, intelligent people. We can learn so much if we just listen, learn, and share without judgment.
I would rather not waste too much time messaging. Let's just meet and do dinner or lunch. If there’s a spark, fantastic. If we meet and it turns out to be a complete disaster look on the bright side: it will have been an adventure in and of itself and we will have experienced one of life’s little cameos along the way.

Ok, so this is like going to the supermarket without a shopping list when you’re hungry – you want EVERYTHING right? But... I have a shopping list!
Apart from the normal stuff we all want and need in a relationship - loving,romantic,warm,kind,fun caring, great sense of humour, honesty etc. etc. I am looking for a life partner and a deep, meaningful connection. Ideally, you are educated, intelligent and perhaps a little esoteric with a high EQ
So here’s my shopping list :

• Have at least an interest in nature, wildlife, animals and the universe.
o Be Confident and a little outgoing.
o I appreciate a logical thinker who isn’t given to irrational fears and worries - life is too short for unnecessary anxiety. Control the things you can and leave the rest to Nature (or fate, if thats what you call it)
o Be laid back enough to handle the unexpected. If we miss our flight to wherever, it’s really not the end of the world.
• I value someone who is emotionally stable, uninhibited, adventurous and secure both in herself and in a relationship. Insecurity is a relationship killer.
o I am fit and active, so I’m looking for someone reasonably fit and healthy. No lounge lizards, please!
o I love to travel and still have a bucket list, so it would be fantastic if you are semi-free to travel when the bug bites. How does the idea of a road trip through Africa or backpacking through South America one day sound to you?
• Be financially independent.
• Be able to compromise, COMMUNICATE, and be prepared to do the hard stuff when life gets tough. If you’re prone to passive aggression please move right along. Unspoken expectations are premeditated resentments.
